Location
We are located within the Reserva Natural Tisey-Estanzuela (Tisey-Estansuela Nature Reserve) in the Department of Estelí, Nicaragua. Some maps identify Cuevas de Apaguají which is located within our property.
We are about 10 kilometers south and a bit west of the city of Estelí, a few kilometers north and a bit west of the town of San Nicolás.
The easiest access is to turn off the Pan American highway on the road to San Nicolás. This junction is about 15 kilometers south of Estelí (129 kilometers north of Managua). This recently paved road winds up into the mountains and then starts to drop down to San Nicolás which is in the valley below.
When you reach the corner illustrated here [add photo of the corner and sign] you need to turn right onto the dirt road. In 3.5 kilometers you will see [photo of the sign we don't have yet] our sign. Turn left and follow the [we need something--maybe green arrows?] to the facility.
If you want to take public transit, there are buses that go from Estelí to our entrance road three times a day. There is also regular service to San Nicolas.
If you need transportation, contact us and we can make arrangements for you including airport pickup at Sandino International in Managua. From the airport to your hotel room is about a two hour trip in private vehicle.
