If you are from the U.S. but will be in Nicaragua over the Fourth of July weekend, why not spend it at CoolTop with some other folks from the U.S.? We may not have fireworks (not the best thing in the reserve) but maybe one of the volcanos will erupt. They are not nearby but you can see them from the restaurant or from your private room.

This event is still in the planning stages but here is what we promise:

• Friday transport from Granada or Managua.
• Dinner in the restaurant where you can watch the sunset.
• Time after breakfast to check out the facility including a hike up the cerro Apaguají.
• A party starting Saturday afternoon that will include beer, hotdogs, hamburgers and apple pie and lots of time to chat with others.
• Another great dinner followed by live music.
• Sunday brunch followed by a chance to check out the San Nicolas area.
• Transportation back to Granada or Managua.

For those with more time, will be offering some day trips in northern Nicaragua starting on July 6. Or, just hang out and enjoy the peace and quiet.
