CoolTop Community

CoolTop is an intentional community. It's focus is to allow first-worlders to move to a desirable location where they can afford to live in a sustainable fashion. But, we are not just about first-worlders. Our goal is to be integrated with the local community. We expect to learn from the locals and, in return, we will share what we know with them.

When we purchased the property it included a caretaker's house. Rustic is how a real estate agent might have described it. Falling apart is more appropriate.

For those that enjoy fishing, Nicaragua offers many fishing opportunities. We offer both day trips and overnight fishing adventures.

The closest location is Lake Apanas, located between Estelí and Jinotega. Longer trips include fishing in the Pacific Ocean and in Lake Nicaragua from Ometepe Island.

If you are planning an event, give us the details and we will get back to you with a quote for our services. We can handle anything from a two-hour lunch meeting to a multi-day conference. We can also arrange transportation to and from the facility for your attendees.

CoolTop is a big, creative project. The following participants have been in charge of organization and management of the project. There are many more people working with us and we intend to add information about them as well.

The first project was to repair the access road. The beginning of the property is about 2 kilometers from the main road. Add to that the need for about another 700 meters of road to get to the main building. The existing road was all but impassible by anything less than a large truck or motorcycle.
