Mango

Mangos are a very popular crop in Nicaragua. They grow well from sea level up into our area. Because of the climate differences, fresh mangos are available over an extended period time.

Mangos from Masaya are the first to appear on the local market in EstelĂ. They appear in late February. The last to ripen are the ones grown in Tisey. They will be available through *****.

Facility

This section is about the CoolTop facility. The land, the location, how to find us and a bit of generic information on what we offer. Details of the various parts then have their own sections. They are:

Mushroom Production

In the past, mushrooms in this area only came in cans. With our cool climate we decided we could change that. ...

Coffee

At the altitude of the finca, you can produce good coffee. We have coffee bushes scattered amongst trees and banana plants to produce what is called shade grown coffee. To make it perfect, it is grown organically.coffee_beans_2.jpg

Our 2007-8 crop was minimal but we are serious about offering you a good cup of coffee when you are visiting and the chance to buy some to take home.

Farm

The CoolTop facility includes what we are calling a farm but it is so much more. It includes native crops (coffee, mangos, guava, oranges, lemons), an experimental crop area, a mushroom production facility, tilapia farm and fruit leather production facility. Everything is done organically and in a sustainable manner.
